Cindy Valentine

Cindy Valentine started her yoga journey in 1999. She is now a co-owner of The Yoga Shack NY.

Cindy is married and has two children and two cats: Samadhi and Chip. Cindy earned her masters degree in education and taught sixth grade for five years until she made the switch to teaching yoga to both adults and kids full time. Cindy created and implemented a yoga program in the Syosset school district which taught yoga to educators. Her yogic path has always been organic; having full faith it was always what was meant to be. Cindy completed four teacher trainings to teach yoga to children, from preschool through teenagers, as well as mommy & me and family yoga. When completed her first 200 hour teacher training for adults, she met Michelle DeNicola, with whom she now collaborates with. Over the next 12 years, she continued to study with many incredible teachers.

She holds certifications in: 500 hour yoga teacher training; Yoga Tune Up levels one and two; Yoga Tune Up Advanced Anatomy; five 18 hour trainings under Jonny Kest; two complete yin teacher trainings with Joe Barnett; kickboxing; barre classes; Strike Indoor Cycle (Spinning and Jonny G certifications); and warrior and yoga sculpt. Cindy has also studied extensively with: Sean Corn, Bryan Kest, Baron Baptiste, Jacqui Bonwell, among many others. Out of all of her experiences, nothing prepared her for owning a yoga studio but she wouldn’t change a single thing! She loves every second of working with her best friend and partner in crime, Michelle. The Yoga Shack was born out of her absolute love and devotion to the practice of yoga.
