Carol Montelione, LMT
Carol began her journey as a massage therapist in 1996, after the healing she experienced after suffering a herniated disc. She remedied her injury through the integration of massage and Ayurvedic herbal medicine.
Carol graduated from Owen’s Institute of Massage and Wholistic Sciences in Wilmington, Delaware. Immediately upon graduation, she opened her own massage practice as an out-call therapist to the local communities of the Southern New Jersey shore area. Within her practice, she mentored new therapists, offering them opportunities to work alongside her in beach cabanas in Avalon and Wildwood. During this period in her life, she taught massage and anatomical sciences at the Philadelphia School of Massage. In 2004, Carol took a hiatus from teaching and moved to San Antonio, Texas for a year, where she worked and learned various specialty scrubs and body wraps at the Hyatt Resort Day Spa.
Carol moved to Colorado Springs in 2017, where she instantly fell in love with the culture and diversity of the people in Colorado. She discovered the peaceful tranquility of the mountains and the penetrative, calming effects of the brilliant sun. The simple act of absorbing sunlight while taking in each meditative breath is so wonderfully healing. Carol has played an active role as program manager for the dementia and Alzheimer’s community in the Springs. When possible, she enjoys utilizing her skills as a massage therapist to assist this community with calming and soothing massage techniques to help in minimizing any fear or anxieties that may be present.
Although Carol’s forte is Swedish-style massage, she incorporates a variety of massage and energetic approaches in her bodywork. She integrates a peaceful and calming flow that will relax your body, ease your breathing, and soothe your mind. SunWater Spa allows for a varied fusion of blended oils for customized therapeutic treatments with the use of targeted essential oils to increase and prolong the benefits of your massage. Carol is experienced in deep tissue, trigger point therapy, reflexology, prenatal, sports massage, hot stone, and body therapies.
