In this two-hour class, learn about the history of Rocket, delve into breathing and cleansing kriyas, and move through a rocket vinyasa flow with time to workshop poses.
Rocket is a form of traditional ashtanga yoga and is known as one of the original forms of power yoga. Unlike ashtanga, rocket yoga is playful and allows modifications and variations of poses. Like ashtanga, rocket yoga is rooted in tristana, which is focus on the bandhas, breath, and drishti.
Rocket yoga has been coined “the rocket, because it gets you there faster.” Every class is a full body experience that works every muscle and tissue while also building strength, courage, and confidence to take inversions away from the wall. Rocket yoga teaches you to truly move with your breath and presents advanced poses for the beginner to learn.
Janell Duncan is an E-RYT 500 hour trained teacher and is completing 100 hours in rocket yoga. She has been practicing rocket since 2016, teaching it since 2018, and is amazed by this practice every time she steps onto her mat. She loves the focus of rocket, with its balance of hard and soft. Janell is also the owner and founder of Aranyani Yoga Studio in Woodland Park.
