Job Summary:

The Spa Services Attendant has to effectively be part of the SunWater team while paying attention to detail and providing quality service for staff and guests in the Spa Services Department. This includes light housekeeping and restocking of all Spa Service areas and ensuring that all spaces are service-ready throughout the day. The Spa Services Attendant is also responsible for greeting Spa Service guests and delivering them to the proper area for their service.

The Spa Services Attendant will also be trained in all protocols for Massage, Bodywork and/or Facials depending on certifications and qualifications. When needed, the Spa Service Attendant will be available to cover massage, body treatment and/or facial or waxing appointments.

This position is an integral part of the Spa Services team, and must communicate effectively with therapists, estheticians, Front Desk staff, Spa Services Lead and Manager to ensure the best guest and staff experience at SunWater. This is a part-time position which reports directly to the Spa Services Manager, ideal for recent massage school and/or cosmetology school graduates who wish to work in a spa environment and want to get their foot in the door.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Display the behaviors and attitudes that support SunWater’s values, mission and vision
  • Contribute toward a quality work environment
  • Follow the proper channels of communication, express to management any issues involving rooms, equipment, product, laundry, staffing or guests related to Spa Services
  • Maintain flexibility and a positive attitude regarding changes to enhance guest experience or to meet the fiscal needs of the organization
  • Follow protocols for communicating via Basecamp Messages, Documents and To-dos
  • Maintain awareness of the daily MindBody schedule, staffing, room assignments and services throughout each shift
  • Be available to cover massage, body treatment, facial and/or waxing service appointments on an on-call basis, when needed (depending on license(s) and certification(s))
  • Effectively stock and maintain all Spa Service areas: linens, towels, massage, skin care, waxing and body treatment product, containers, paper product, guest truffles, filtered water
  • Daily Turn on A/C units in all rooms in Spring/Summer in the AM and off in PM; Turn on all heaters in Autumn/Winter in the AM and off in PM
  • Daily Turn on/off wax pots in Tava 2B
  • Daily refill Tava 2 copper guest water pitcher with 7-minute Spring mineral water and setup with glasses in waiting area
  • Daily turn on/off Sonos music in Tava 2 and make sure that all speakers/rooms are grouped
  • Daily check that all equipment is shut off in all rooms at the end of each shift
  • Spot clean spa service areas as needed throughout a shift
  • Walk all spa service guests to their appointments (Aquatic therapies, massage, body treatments, facials and wax appointments)
  • Be available to assist therapists and estheticians in setup/cleanup when necessary


Position Requirements:

  • Must have excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Must exhibit high level of integrity, honesty and reliability
  • Work efficiently and effectively
  • Must be available to work 3-4 shifts per week (8:00am – 2:00pm; 2:00pm – 8:00pm)
  • Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Posses a smartphone and be proficient enough on it to communicate effectively with team and supervisor as needed
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Must have reliable transportation


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Spa experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Basic math skills
  • General cleaning experience
  • Current Colorado State massage certification and/or Colorado State COZ license
  • Minimum 800 hours of massage training and/or 500 hours of esthetics training
  • Knowledge of and experience with Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, hot stone massage, pre-natal massage, aromatherapy and body scrubs and wraps. And/Or Knowledge of and experience with skin care including facial protocols for a variety of skin types, high frequency, galvanic and waxing services- including brazilian wax


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push and pull required (usually about 30lbs)
  • Walking up and down stairs throughout a 6 hour shift
  • Cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming and mopping motions
  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
