SunMountain is part of a larger brand experience including a wellness spa, event company, international retreats and online education platform.


Job Summary:

As a member of the SunMountain Center facilities department it is crucial we are able to adapt to evolving situations as part of an ever-growing project. You will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the physical property, including three homes and other infrastructure. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the protocols and procedures of the company, and work with the Facilities Manager to establish new protocols and procedures where helpful
  • General and preventative maintenance of buildings, with guest safety and comfort in mind, making repairs as needed
  • Work with contractors for special projects as needed
  • General and preventative maintenance of all bodies of water including but not limited to hot tubs, fountains, and streams
  • Keep driveways, lots and decks clean of snow and debris and safe for guests; coordinate with SunWater as needed for plowing
  • Ensure all opening and closing duties are completed
  • Communicate to management on any issues that require attention
  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well organized work area
  • Responsible removal of waste, electronics and any other hazardous material
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment
  • Assess the property for potentially hazardous situations such as icy/ snowy/ slippery surfaces, misplaced tools and equipment, dangerously placed hoses and extension cords, and overall safety
  • Plan projects and improvements with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind
  • Proactively undertake preventative maintenance schedules
  • Regularly attend/participate in training, program planning, and staff meetings


Position Requirements:

  • General maintenance, repair, and plumbing knowledge will be required on a daily basis
  • Possess hand and power tool operation skills, and safety knowledge
  • Must be organized and display attention to detail
  • Ability to self-direct, manage projects from beginning to end, work independently, and delegate as necessary
  • Work effectively on a team as well as individually
  • Be mechanically inclined, and enjoy troubleshooting and fixing things
  • Must have integrity and be honest
  • Ability to drive maintenance truck with a trailer
  • Capability to research a variety of products and services
  • Knowledge in reading building plans and specifications
  • Have flexibility in work hours
  • Must be able to stay calm under occasional fast paced conditions  
  • Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly, solution-oriented personality
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Must have ability to multi-task
  • Must have a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and customer service skills
  • Required to take direction from a manager

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • General maintenance, repair and plumbing experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Customer service experience


Physical Requirements:

  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel, squat and bend
  • Ability to lift, push and pull required 50lbs
  • Walk up and down stairs
